The mammoth jaw
The oldest piece in the museum, a witness of the Ice Age in the Moldova river valley.

The mammoth jaw discovered on the territory of the commune is the oldest piece in the collection, taking the story of this place tens of thousands of years back, into the Ice Age.
The valley of the Moldova river was then crossed by herds of mammoths, and finds like this one remind us that the history of Baia begins long before the first written records.
